I wanted to post because I have been very discouraged by fitness influencers and I feel like I have done everything right yet at 5mo I still have ways to go and pelvic floor dysfunction, but I know I have come a long way. I had an easy non complicated birth. Was VERY active during pregnancy- lifted weights 3x week, did bar 2x a week, and walked 3+ miles a day. With that being said, I thought post partum would be super easy. I tried to start working out at 4weeks with very gentle moves- and immediately had intense tightness and pain. I went to pelvic floor PT at 6 week and she told me I had very mild prolapse (90% of women after vaginal birth do) but that my pain was coming from my tightness. She taught me how to stretch and calm down the muscles and did some internal work which felt like night and day. Fast forward to now, I am still having some trouble coordinating my core and pelvic floor during tasks, but I have gotten a lot better. Get mom strong has been a wonderful app and it has a great pace and the intimate rose pelvic wand has some in handy during flare ups. I still have some days where I have heaviness and discomfort, but overall I am starting to really get into a comfortable fitness routine and I’m able to walk 3+ miles a day and am having days where I don’t have any pelvic floor issues.

I post this because I see fitness influencers running and jumping and lifting heavy at and before 12 weeks and it makes me feel insecure and broken and I wanted this community to know that even very athletic women who considered themselves to be in fantastic shape before and during pregnancy are still taking longer than anticipated to heal and return to PLOF. Anyone else experience this?
