Vacuum hunting is hard! This subreddit makes it harder.

I couldn’t spend more than $300 on a vacuum because I don’t make enough money to save that much. I have carpeted floors that needed cleaning so bad and I sought out advice here. There are a lot of posts of people in similar situations, looking for a budget vacuum that will last a while, and every reply says that this is an impossible request. The reply’s say that a large number of brands are useless and unreliable and they might catch on fire. I was listening and I was depressed because I thought I wouldn’t be able to afford to clean my floors.
I ended up getting a Hoover pet vacuum this weekend because it was what they had at a store near me and it was $180. I skipped around all day because I was so excited that I did it and then I went home and cleaned my floors. It works PERFECTLY. I cannot see any hairs left in my previously matted carpets and all of the attachments work so well. It’s not bagged so I have to clean the filters but it is very easy and every part is reachable. All of this is to say, everyone deserves to clean their house and there is something for everyone. Feel free to say what didn’t work for you but also don’t leave unhelpful advice about how you favor your Miele on a post about budget vacuums.
