Ok bear with me for a minute...

Imagine you stand on a planet, that is on a direct collision course with a similarly massive planet. As you look up you see the other planet getting closer and closer, but because *your planet is also getting closer to the second one,* from your perspective it looks as if the second planet if falling about twice as fast as it should have.

I know it's silly I literally had this in the shower, literally a shower thought.

And I know this really can only happen if the two objects are stationary relative to each other, which is rarer

EDIT: So listen it's more of a joke or a silly thought than anything you don't need to get too technical to prove how smart you are in the replies
