I know I’m probably beating a dead horse here, but does anyone else feel like Assassin’s Creed has wasted some of its settings and characters by putting them into a game like chronicles or mobile games instead of giving them full mainline entries?
Shao Jun alone feels like she had enough depth to be a main protagonist. She was introduced in Assassin’s Creed: Embers, referenced in other AC games, and China as a setting has always felt like something fans wanted as a full experience. Instead, it gets pushed into smaller side content and now mobile games.
The same goes for India and even Russia. India would be such a fresh and unique setting for a mainline game, and Russia could work really well too. I know a lot of people bring up the issue of firearms, but if it’s set in an earlier period where rifles and guns are still limited and slower to use, I think there’s definitely a way to make it work.
