I would really appreciate any help with this problem.

So a friend from greece just visited me. He came by car and we planned a road trip through (mostly) germany for the next 3 weeks. I just noticed that the car s safety inspections are overdue and told him. the car is definitely safe, but ofc it is not legal to drive around right now. So today i called the local TÜV if they can also inspect a car from a different EU country, but the guy on the phone wasnt sure. Has anybody ever done this? can a TÜV in germany test cars with a registration from a different EU country?
