I’m currently in the last semester of my BCA from a tier-3 college and trying to figure out the smartest path to get a job as soon as possible.
Here’s where I stand:
- I know MERN stack, but I’ve only built 1 project so far and haven’t deployed it yet.
- I’m actively doing DSA and have solved around 160 questions.
- I’m about to start Graphs.
- If I stay consistent, I can probably reach 500 questions in the next 2.5 months.
Now I’m confused about where to focus.
Should I go deeper into DSA and try to master it for interviews, or should I shift more energy into development and building/deploying strong projects?
My goals/questions:
For someone in my situation, what gives the best chance of getting hired fastest?
Is solving 500 DSA questions in 2.5 months enough to get interview calls from good product-based companies / big tech?
Since I’m from a tier-3 college, how much does that affect chances for big tech?
What level of projects should I have before applying seriously?
For remote jobs in the US/Europe, what should I focus on most—DSA, development, freelancing, open source, networking?
If you had to choose one path for fastest career growth: strong dev skills or high-level DSA?
I’d really value honest advice, especially from people who’ve been in similar situations or are working in product companies / remote roles.
Looking for practical guidance, not motivational stuff.
