I applied for a Virtual Assistant job recently on LinkedIn and my application was viewed and downloaded. A few days later (Monday morning), I received an email saying my application had been forwarded to the hiring manager.

It’s now Wednesday evening, so it’s been about 2–3 days since that update.

I’m really interested in the role and I found the hiring manager’s LinkedIn (and Instagram as well). He seems quite active online and is somewhat of a public figure with a podcast.

I’m considering reaching out directly to express my interest again because I really need the job, but I’m unsure if that would be too forward or unprofessional at this stage.

Would it be okay to message him directly, or should I wait longer and stick to official communication channels?

Any advice appreciated.
