Kitten won’t eat
TL; DR: kitten won’t eat, vet involved. Need suggestions
Anyone with a kitten who just won’t eat? He has no interest in eating. Healthy, raised with mom and rest of litter. Gained weight while nursing. Around 7 weeks mom started limiting time at the milk bar. No problem since the kittens were eating. But not this guy. Tried hand feeding a variety of foods. Nope. Wouldn’t lap up anything. On a good day he might take 2 or 3 licks of baby food off a spoon. Started giving SQ fluids to keep him hydrated. Then tube feeding to maintain his weight. Vet diagnosed coccidia. He’s been fully treated. He’s also been tube fed since 8 weeks. After coccidia treatment, still no interest in food. Still not gaining weight, despite adequate calories. Vet prescribed pancreatic enzymes. Weight gain started. Poops normalized. He feels like a million bucks. But no interest in eating or drinking anything. We keep thinking he will eat when he’s ready but at 9 weeks 6 days we are wondering. Any suggestions?
