Had fun watching "Body Slam" (1986) w/ Drik Benedict, Tanya Roberts, Capt. Lou Albano, Barry Gordon
Fun little 80s throwback flick that still has all the charm. It’s got that goofy, colorful, slightly over-the-top energy that makes these movies so easy to enjoy, even when the plot is basically just an excuse to get from one entertaining scene to the next. Dirk Benedict really gives the whole thing an A-Team vibe, like Face Man accidentally wandered into a wrestling movie and decided to make it work.
Roddy Piper is a blast! Tanya Roberts brings the classic 80s movie glamour, and the whole thing feels like a time capsule from when wrestling, music, and TV charisma all collided in the best possible way. It’s not a polished film, but that’s part of the charm — it plays like a scrappy, high-energy Saturday night rental with just enough swagger.
