For what it's worth:

• The cable seems to be in good adjustment, as fully depressing the lever fully disengages power from the rear wheel.
• The bike runs, shifts, accelerates, cruises, and overall rides normally.
• The knocking feels strongest near the clutch pinion.

Has anyone experienced this?
