I'm about to run our session after the funnel and I'm keen to hear how you handle the lethality of the game at your table. I'm keen on the idea that players need to be on their game the entire time or things can go south very quickly but, in many years of running and playing games, I've never found death as the result of a series of terrible dice roles to be very rewarding for anyone. Also, if you look at the heroes from many of the works in appendix N they often seemed doomed but were instead captured, left for dead and nursed back to health, rescued by the cavalry coming over the hill etc. But then part of me is saying "yes, but we're playing to see if your character is the hero of this tale or just another red-shirt.". Thoughts?
