We are a couple from the DC area and have learned a small amount of Portuguese but not enough to feel free to move around in the Brazilian countryside. I am trying to figure out what to pack, as I heard this time of year the weather is fairly mild. Also trying to book any guides or purchase tickets for trains, etc.

This is our first time visiting and we fly in next week (and staying for about 10 days). We love to experience the culture of a place as well as the big tourist spots. So, would love ideas for any “must do” activities.

Thanks in advance for anything you can share, even if you just say what you do when you last visited.
