I'm glad to see diabetics in this sub vouch for the effectiness of keto. It's a diet that appears as tragically overlooked to me, and honestly, now more than ever due to Ozempic. If you use it, great for you, if you can't get your hands on it, I feel like keto is still the best way to get healthy.

What I always found weird about weight loss guides/advice it's that it's always the same cookie-cutter advice of "have a balanced diet and eat full grains", and it doesn't even matter if it's targeted at people who want to lose weight in general or (type 2) diabetics. Because, sure, it's better to eat full grain, because it's more stable than eating a lot of sugar very quickly, but the part about "the body takes hours to break down carbs into Glucose" is still a problem by itself, isn't it? If I were to illustrate it with another addiction, let's say we tell an alcoholic to - instead of downing a bottle of vodka all at once - to take a sip every hour. Probably healthier, but what good is it supposed to do against the addiction/craving for more?

Answer: Fucking nothing, apparently? When I think about it, not once in my entire life did one of the guides I read adress food noise/cravings. Every health expert and doctor etc. pretends it doesn't exist, I guess. And implicity it tells us: You gotta thug it out. And people believe this. People genuinely think you have to suffer through this up until recently, when Ozempic became wide-spread. Again, if you take it, all power to you, but I'm seriously wondering how many people who take it could get the same results by their own power if they instead hopped on keto.

Like, am I missing something? What makes this diet, that eliminates food cravings and allows one to lose weight relatively easily even with insulin resistance, feel so "underground"?

As far as I'm concerned, keto is law.

I'm not really active in the community, but overall I get the impression that he's pretty unpopular, but I always felt like when playing the game/watching the anime that I wanted to scream off the top of my lungs "HE'S LITERALLY ME!" He's so relatable fr.
