Hi everyone, I need some technical advice. I’m struggling with a new Google Ads account, and I'm trying to fix everything to secure the €400 promotional credit.

Current Setup:

  • Platform: WordPress with Google Site Kit plugin installed.
  • Landing Page: A dedicated page with a contact form.
  • Form Plugin: WPForms.
  • Conversion Goal: Originally, I tried to track the form submission (WPForms), but since it wasn't working, I switched to tracking the "Thank You Page" (URL destination).

The Core Issue: Despite my tests, Google Ads marks the conversion status as "No recent conversions". However, when using Google Tag Assistant, the conversion hit for my ID shows as "Succeeded" and fires perfectly when the Thank You Page loads.

What we have tried so far:

  1. GA4 vs. GTM Tracking: Initially, we had duplicate issues where GA4 was counting twice per session. We cleaned up the tags in GTM, but the Ads dashboard still won't reflect any conversion data.
  2. Consent Mode: I suspect Consent Mode might be interfering, although tags seem to fire correctly after the user grants consent in my manual tests.
  3. Leads: I am aware that the campaign is well-crafted because we received positive requests from the leads, but Google Ads is not acknowledging them. The problem is that good quality leads tend to arrive when Google Ads is learning the bidding strategy, because then when the campaign runs, not counting conversions (and being the main objective of the campaign) then the results suck.

My questions:

Someone can help me find a solution? Is this a problem that others have encountered or am I just inexperienced? I am willing to receive any criticism to enhance my job performance!

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me solve this and save my €400 bonus!
