I have intermittent FMLA
Friday May 1st, the company I work for sent out a company-wide email that: everybody with intermittent FMLA older than 6 months need to recertify within 15 days.
From my understanding, employers can request FMLA recertification but on an individual basis and a with reason suspicion (lest they risk being charged with FMLA intimidation/retaliation.)
I’ve been researching and I can’t seem to find any other examples of mass FMLA recert directives. This feels like they’re way out of bounds… this company has thousands of employees and several hundred of us with FMLA, management has decided that all several hundred of us need to recertify? Feels like collective punishment to me for a certain global event coming up….
Edit: the email was sent to everybody, not just those of us with FMLA
