I applied for a Spanish student visa at the consulate in Rio de Janeiro and I’m getting a bit concerned about the delay.
Here’s my situation:
Appointment date: April 20
Today’s date: May 7
It has been around 11–12 business days
My application still does NOT appear in the Sutramite Consular MAEC
Status shows basically nothing / not found
Details about my application:
I applied for a long-term student visa (course starts June 1)
I submitted all required documents
Financial proof includes:
My own income (self-employed, ride apps like Uber/99)
Bank statements (mine + my father’s)
Financial support from my father
At the consulate:
They accepted everything without major issues
They told me I would be notified by email when there is a decision
I already sent an email asking if my application was registered, but no reply yet.
My questions:
Is it normal for the application to NOT appear in the system after this long?
Could this delay indicate a problem or possible rejection?
Has anyone experienced something similar and still got approved?
Any insight would really help.
