Hey everyone. Im a new player to soulsborn games, and Im loving DS1. I ahve beaten most of the bosses relatively quickly, and understood their mechanics pretty quick. However, I am relatively unexpected with pvp in this game. I didn't even unhollow until lvl 80. I just got invaded by someone, and I figured Id try to knock them down with my Smough hammer (im playing a slow tank), and try to beat them down. However, as soon as they spawned, they used a strange aoe that immediately knocked me down and took a 3rd of my health. By the time I stood up, I immediately got hit with the ability again, and then again. I looked it up and apparently this is called wrath of god, and you need to fast roll to get out of it. But as a character who is fat rolling, was I just completely screwed here, or was this a winnable fight?
