so i'm an incoming freshman with a mechanical engineering major and a music performance minor and i'm trying to choose an LLC for housing. I've read a lot about Kerr Hall already but I'm still not entirely sure. I don't mind the old building really, it's the social aspect i'm worried about. I love music a lot, and I would love to have friends who do too, but my style of music is more like flute player, concert band, wind ensemble type and not really the modern rock band type. do the students who are in the performance ensembles live in the music LLC or do you find them living all over? and what kind of people usually choose kerr as in like are they typical band kids or kids in band or rock kids etc?
I already know that the engineering LLC usually gets the bigger/nicer dorms which would be nice, but I'm wondering how easy it is to make friends since it's a bit bigger. and also a lot of people have said that it's easier to focus on classes when other people from your major live with you, which is good, but i just don't want to be laser focused on school all the time in college like i was in high school, so I'm hoping it's not as academically intense all of the time? would love some advice!!
