AUDIT allocation of engagements and charging hours
ALLOCATION OF ENGAGEMENTS
If our managers could read this I wanted to share a quick suggestion regarding how we’re allocated to engagements.
Currently, we are being followed up by several different seniors and managers at once can get a bit overwhelming and makes it tough to prioritize tasks effectively.
It would be much smoother if we could be assigned to the same core group of seniors or managers. Having one primary point of contact who actually sees our full workload would cut down on the "priority whiplash" and help us keep a better rhythm during the busy periods.
Just a thought to help make the workflow a bit more efficient for everyone.
CHARGING HOURS
I also want to share some feedback regarding the current charging code situation. With the busy season in full swing, it has become nearly impossible to manage daily 8-hour logs when engagement budgets don't reflect the actual complexity of the files we are handling.
Currently, we are often assigned engagements with significant issues or tentative accounts that require a massive amount of time.
It is incredibly stressful to be working late into the night on client deliverables, only to then have to worry about finding "filler" codes or WBLs just to account for a standard 8-hour day.
It would be a huge help if management could ensure our normal 8 hours are covered regardless of these budget gaps, with extra charges specifically allotted for the larger engagements that require overtime.
We want to stay focused on the quality of the audit, and removing the stress of this "timesheet hunt" would allow us to do that much more effectively.
