I've been working on my novel where the setting is based on people discovering a new material long ago and using it it wherever they can from that time (the story's set in our modern world, no other additions). I'm not planning to infodump in the novel itself, but I really want to think it through.
I already know that multiple things you need to consider are the matter's physical (and chemical) properties, how to produce it, how to produce energy with it and some inventions using it, but I already have trouble with figuring these out.
Any checklist, things I need to read, posts on this topic or other advice?
