Hi yall, my pup is just about to turn a year! Every so often hell go through those puppy fear stages and weve worked through those very consistently and using positive reinforcement all the things! But it is when I am not home he is a completely different dog lately. My roommate and husband stay to our routines, tricks, commands, i watch on cameras to ensure they stick to it and they have!
Biggest issue my pup has is going on a walk. Youd figure hed be most excited for those but not one bit. He will run in circles to get away from his harness/collar. And again weve all stayed consistent on using positive reinforcement to make sure he doesnt associate it with fear as much as we can. He has been full on lunging, snarling biting at them when they try to go on a walk. When im home, doesnt show those behaviors at all towards them.
He resource guards his crate so them also trying to put him in his safe space has been escalating him much more. I could go on and on about how we try to redirect but nothing is working.
I am at work almost 10 hours a day, he really shouldnt be locked in his crate that whole time especially if they are home. What can we do different?
