Fictional book I read around 2010, it is not a historical book per say, but Napoleon’s exile to Elba island is a side story.
So I read a book years ago and I know there is a chapter(s) that includes Napoleon Bonaparte’s exile to Elba Island. I feel like he was writing letters to a woman. It was not a historical book, and this aspect of it was a side story. It’s reminiscent of the Grand Inquisitor chapter in the Brothers Karamazov in my mind. During this time I was reading books in the vein of The Master and Margarita and the memory is entangled within this world. When I look up what it could be on google I get historical books. Any help?!
