progressivism, socialism, and left-wing economics are fundamentally incompatible with islamic values when examined closely. islam strongly recognizes private property rights, the quran explicitly prohibits theft and unjust seizure of wealth, and the prophet muhammad (saw) himself was a merchant who engaged in trade. this stands in direct contradiction to socialist ideology which advocates for collective or state ownership of the means of production.
islam also has a detailed and sophisticated economic framework built around zakat, voluntary charity (sadaqah), and the prohibition of riba (interest). this is not a system of state redistribution, it is a voluntary, community-driven welfare system. socialism replaces this organic framework with a centralized state apparatus, which contradicts the islamic principle of limiting unjust authority.
furthermore, progressive social values such as radical gender ideology, the normalization of certain lifestyles, and the erosion of the traditional family unit directly conflict with islamic teachings on family, modesty, and morality. islam defines clear social structures that progressivism actively seeks to dismantle.
lastly, islam is a complete way of life governed by sharia, sovereignty belongs to allah, not the state or popular consensus. left-wing ideology is inherently secular and places human legislation above divine guidance, which is fundamentally at odds with islamic belief.
