Howdy everyone. I'm about to start my public accounting tax internship in less than a month. Since the last post I made about the topic, I've spent some time researching and taking up the advice y'all gave me then.

But out of curiosity and naivety on my part, are summer internships viewed as less valuable compared to busy season internships? I know the experience and workload could vary per the firm, location, team, and service line. But I'm curious on how both timeframes for tax internships are viewed in comparison.

My assumption so far is that busy season interns get much more exposure to actual responsibilities and client engagements. But, I'd imagine those interns might get less time to connect with seniors, managers, and other colleagues due to the tight deadlines and the sheer amount of work given to you.

But compared to summer internships, I'd assume the workload is lighter overall, which might mean less exposure to some of the concepts or responsibilities that busy season interns might experience. However, I'd imagine that there's probably more opportunities for interns like myself to learn directly from others which might be viewed as more of an benefit.

For those who would train or supervise interns, or for those who have experienced both types of internships. Would you have any insights on summer internships and how they are viewed in comparison to busy season internships?
