My parents were just quoted $7,600 plus tax by Leaf Home Solutions for a brand new well water treatment system to replace a pre-existing system. The full system being installed would include: a new ion resin tank, brine tank, and a UV light with sediment catch. Also they would be moving the system to the garage instead of our basement.
A little history on the pre-existing system; we currently have a carbon tank, resin tank, and a brine tank. However, it was cycling on twice a day. This combined with a clogged drainage pipe and bad drainage system, (the previous company had set it to drain out to the septic system, which the Leaf Home salesman said is a “big no no”) led to a slightly flooded basement. Which is currently going through mold remediation, however I digress.
My parents are very set on this new system, presented to them by this very skilled salesman. I do agree they need to replace the current system, but I’m scared they may be getting ripped off for $7,600 plus tax.
It just seems high in my opinion.
Are my worries justified?
