My First Poem [POEM] let me know what you think
It's smile or cry so I may as well smile. It's that feeling you get when you haven't seen her face in a while.
We said we could still be friends. But the pain of seeing you stopped that in the end.
You were the girl I said I would give my heart to forever. Now I sit in the dark and my heart breaks over and over.
I wish I could see your eyes, hear you laugh and watch you smile. But I know this is the happiest you have been in a while.
I miss hearing about your day, the certain phrases you say. The way you would tell me it's all going to be okay.
Your warmth beside me and the way that you smell. Right now it's like I am going through hell.
I didn't want to let you go. But you didn't love me the same and I held on long after you let go.
I left with my clothes in the closet and not much more. I said goodbye to the cats and I walked out the door.
Everyone asks if I am ok. But I never said what I wanted to say.
If they knew the hurt I hide inside, what it feels like without you by my side.
To miss every part of you from your toes to your hair. I miss the love that we used to share.
When I hear your name I search through a crowd. When I can't sleep because my thoughts are too loud.
So I smile, tell everyone I am alright. Despite the fact I have been crying all night.
I try to hide the pain but people see through the cracks. As the weight of missing you settles along my back.
It's smile or cry so I may as well smile.
I will be alright but it's going to take a while.
