I‘d like to use 1x12” cab as an extension for my Max Jr 18 combo, giving me the option to convert from a 1x12 combo (8 ohms) to a 2x12 mini stack (4 ohms?).

My cab currently has a single jack, so I’d like to modify it to a dual jack that would work as follows:

1. Unplug the combo speaker from the 8ohm jack on the amp

2. Connect the 4ohm jack on the amp to the external cab

3. take the second jack on the external cab and connect the combo speaker to that

Is there a recommended jack plate for this kind of use? Also, if I did this would I also have the option of just using the external speaker in the 8-ohm output while not using the internal speaker?
