You’re offered a simple deal: every continuous hour you spend on a hobby earns you £20,000. No contracts, no limits, no catch—at least on the surface. The money appears instantly after each completed hour. But the system watching you is precise, and it decides what truly counts as a “hobby.”

First, your hobby must involve active effort and engagement—something like playing music, drawing, writing, coding, building, or practicing a skill. You can’t cheat it by doing nothing, scrolling on your phone, or just sitting around “thinking.” If there’s no visible effort or intent to improve, the timer simply doesn’t start.

Second, the hour must be completely uninterrupted. No breaks at all—no checking your phone, no grabbing food, no bathroom, not even a few seconds of distraction. The moment your attention drifts or you pause, the clock resets to zero. You also can’t multitask; your focus has to stay fully on the hobby the entire time.

At first it sounds like easy money, but it quickly becomes a test of discipline. One perfect hour earns £20,000—but maintaining total focus without slipping, even briefly, is harder than most people expect. The real challenge isn’t finding a hobby—it’s whether you can stay locked in long enough for it to pay off.

Added information: The £20k is also offered in your countries equivalent.

Also- what is your hobby?

You wake up to a message from an unknown organization calling itself The Archive, offering you a strange but tempting deal: you will receive £10 million for every essay you complete. There’s no negotiation, no visible sender, and no explanation of how they know you—but the contract is detailed, formal, and somehow already signed with your name. The only way to accept is to begin.

Each essay must be between 10 and 15 pages, written on A4 paper in 12-point font, with normal formatting—no tricks with spacing, margins, or filler. The writing must be clear, structured, and genuinely argued. Lists, nonsense text, or attempts to pad out the length will immediately disqualify the submission. Every essay must read like serious academic work, the kind you’d submit at university.

You don’t get to choose what you write about. Instead, every time you complete an essay, a new topic is assigned at random. One might ask whether the French Revolution was driven more by ideology or economic pressure, while another could require you to analyse ambition and power in Macbeth. Some prompts explore modern dilemmas, like whether artificial intelligence enhances or diminishes human creativity, while others dive into ethics surrounding technologies like CRISPR. You may know the subject well—or not at all.

There is a strict 72-hour time limit for each essay, starting the moment you open the topic. You are allowed to research, but plagiarism is impossible to hide; The Archive’s system detects it perfectly. If you submit copied or unoriginal work, you receive nothing for that essay. Worse, if your argument is weak or clearly uninformed, you still get paid—but your next topic becomes significantly more difficult, pushing you into unfamiliar or highly complex territory.

You are free to stop at any time and keep everything you’ve earned. However, the moment you quit, you are permanently removed from the challenge. There are no second chances, no returning later. What begins as a simple trade—time for money—slowly becomes a test of endurance, discipline, and intellectual range, as each new essay demands more focus than the last.

After your fifth essay, the rules shift. The topics stop being purely academic and begin to feel uncomfortably personal. You might be asked to evaluate your own ambitions, justify your life choices, or argue whether your biggest regret defines you. These essays are judged more harshly than any before. At that point, the challenge is no longer just about knowledge or writing skill—it becomes a question of how much of yourself you’re willing to examine for £10 million at a time.

-LONG STORY SHORT-

A mysterious group offers you £10 million per essay, but each one must be a properly written 10–15 page academic piece under strict rules, with randomly assigned topics ranging from things like the French Revolution to themes in Macbeth or debates about artificial intelligence, all completed within 72 hours and without plagiarism; you can quit anytime and keep the money, but once you stop you’re out forever, and after a few essays the prompts turn uncomfortably personal—so while it sounds like easy money at first, it quickly becomes a high-pressure test of your knowledge, discipline, and how far you’re willing to push yourself mentally.

that, overnight, every person who has ever led your country—past and present—suddenly returns, fully alive and in their prime. Free from illness, age, or the limitations they once had, they all decide to run again for President, Prime Minister, or Head of State.

With the benefit of hindsight and everything we now know about their time in power, who do you think the public would choose? Would a familiar figure rise back to the top, or would history judge them differently the second time around?

Now consider a different scenario.

You are given the power to choose the next leader of your country—but with strict conditions. The person must have never run for the position before. It cannot be you, any member of your family, your friends, or even anyone you’ve personally met.

Who would you choose to lead, and what qualities or values would make them the right person for the role?

April 28

Today felt like one of those quietly perfect days that you don’t fully appreciate until it’s almost over. I woke up a bit earlier than usual, but instead of feeling tired, I just lay there for a few minutes, listening to the morning—birds outside, a bit of sunlight coming through the curtains. It felt calm.

I didn’t rush anything. Had breakfast properly for once, sat down with a cup of tea, and actually enjoyed it instead of scrolling on my phone. The day just seemed to unfold easily after that. Nothing particularly extraordinary happened, but everything went smoothly—no stress, no awkward moments, no rushing around.

I got a few things done that I’d been putting off, which felt satisfying. It wasn’t even difficult once I started. I also took a walk later on, and the weather was just right—not too cold, not too warm. The kind where you can just wander without thinking too much.

There were a couple of small moments that stood out—a random conversation that made me laugh, noticing how green everything’s getting, that kind of thing. It made me realise how much of a “good day” is just about noticing what’s already there.

But one thing that I have also noticed is how I have lost rather a lot of weight since November. I actually feel rather good about myself. I went from picture right, to picture left, and I feel amazing.

Now it’s evening, and I feel relaxed in a way that’s hard to describe. Not exhausted, just settled. If more days felt like this, I think I’d be doing alright.

So, we may all know how types of matter- are either Solid, liquid, Gas, Plasma, Bose–Einstein condensate. That’s what I know…

But one thing that I am trying to figure out is… Electricity? Lightning. We can all see, if it touches us we can die, we can live…. But it’s not exactly a solid right?

LONG STORY SHORT-

What type of matter is electricity? Is it a Solid?

GOOD DAYYYY!

Today was definitely a long day for me, I chose to volunteer at a local church, cleaning up the outside of it, doing a bit of gardening, trimming the hedges, picking up logs and cutting stuff back.

I did that from 7am to about 3:45pm… I had fun, the weather was really hot and the priest, at the church, he offered me a drink, he handed out biscuits and yeah.

As I started at 7am, I woke up at 5am, had a shower, porridge, made myself some ham and mustard sandwiches as I was out all day.

When I got back home after the volunteering, it was roughly 4:30pm as I did a bit of shopping today, and threw a pepperoni pizza in the air fryer. It was delicious. Since then I have been watching a bit of Television, listening to music. A band called My Chemical Romance and Dschinghis Khan.

If you could live in any point of time, past or future, but you could never return to the current point of time… which would you choose?

Rule-

it has to be over 100 years in the future or over 100 years in the past… you can choose what age you are in that era.

Today I woke up a little later than usual at around 9:30am. I didn’t rush myself too much and eased into the morning by having a shower, getting changed, and eating a simple breakfast of porridge, which helped set a steady tone for the rest of the day.

After that, I went on an hour-long walk with my golden retriever puppy, Meow. It was a nice, peaceful part of the day where I could just get outside, move a bit, and enjoy some fresh air. Spending that time with her made the morning feel calm and unhurried.

When I got back home, I spent some time focusing on a small business idea I’ve been thinking about starting. It felt productive to give it some attention and start shaping things a bit more clearly in my mind. I also took time to call a few friends and check in with them, which was nice and helped the day feel more connected.

Later on, around 7pm, I had spaghetti and meatballs for dinner. It was simple but satisfying and a good way to round off the main part of the day.

Now it’s around 9pm. I’m winding down, listening to some music, watching a bit of Come Dine With Me, and reflecting a little as I write this entry.

(P.S- Enjoy the pictures of my puppy.)

Today- Friday 25th April.

Diary Entry – Lazy Day

Today was a fairly relaxed and easy-going day, the kind where nothing felt rushed or stressful. I woke up at around 8am and started the morning with a warm bowl of porridge for breakfast, which was simple but filling.

After breakfast, I decided to have a shower, which helped me feel more awake and refreshed. Once I was done, I got changed into comfortable clothes for the day ahead. I didn’t have anything urgent planned in the morning, so I took my time and enjoyed the slow pace.

In the afternoon, I went shopping at around 3pm. It wasn’t too busy, which made it quite pleasant to walk around and pick up what I needed. Later on, I also went for an hour-long walk, which was nice for clearing my head and getting some fresh air.

When I got back, I spent some time watching a bit of TV and relaxing. For my evening meal, I had sausage and mash, which was really satisfying after a long day of being out and about.

To finish off the day, I went on another walk in the evening. The air felt calm and peaceful, and it was a nice way to wind down before heading home and settling in for the night.

As it’s now 00:14am on the 26th, I have created this subreddit, currently listening to- Can’t smile without you by Barry Manilow.

I hope that everybody else has had a lovely day x

LONG STORY SHORT-

How does Testosterone work, and how does it get you a deeper voice and hair?

SHORT STORY LONG-

I mean, I’m not in the process, I’m not interested in being, I am a man, and I am happy being so… and I was born a male too… but those which aren’t happy in their body, or those which want more hair in their body…

How does, taking a pill, medicine, cream…. Whatever Testosterone comes in the form of… change the DNA of someone?

I know it’s not changing the DNA, I just don’t know the science of what it does.

How does a pill affect the ability to grow hair? Deeper voice, and other things… does it work the same way as paracetamol or is it different?

Also, I don’t know what the opposite is called… but how would the opposite… grow breasts?
