For those of you unfamiliar with the show and the concept of Godmasters, *Transformers: Super-God Masterforce* (usually just referred to as *Transformers Masterforce*) is a Japanese show that’s part of the Japanese Generation 1 continuity and was a sequel series to the other Japanese Generation 1 show *Headmasters*. The show adapted the concept of Powermasters from the American Marvel Comics as “Godmasters”.

While Powermasters are usually from the planet Nebulos, and bond to a sentient Transformer, Godmasters differ in that they are *humans* that are bonded to a *non-sentient* Cybertronian body. Godmasters also possess a variety of abilities, and there was even a human who took on the form of Optimus Prime named Ginrai.
