Game help
Hi all, im going to be running a chill game very soon. For those of you unaware, Chill is a similar d100 system that also has you playing paranormal investigators. The primary difference between chill and CoC is the nature of the paranormal activity. Where CoC focuses on things beyond the veil and Cultists and witchcraft, Chill is centered around folktales and legends. You may fight an ancient witch cult in CoC but in Chill you come up against folk monsters like skin walkers, Striga, Spriggans, and so on.
Now comes where I need help, I want my players to feel unique more so than the average player character. To accomplish this goal i want to give my PC's quirks, Minor powers that establish their role as protectors of the mundane.
Quirks are balanced around players not knowing what their quirk is and having to figure it out over the course of the game, mostly through paying attention to narrative exposition.
Ive come up with the following Quirks:
☆Poltergeist
Lights and electrical devices flicker when you experience strong emotions such as anger or misery. With practice you will eventually be able to control technology to a slight degree, such as causing localized power outages in a singular room, cause a lightbulb to burn to hot and pop, cause a nearby machine to start itself such as a car or chainsaw.
☆Empath
Can feel when bad things have happened nearby, often has psychic dreams about an individual in distress, with practice can get visions from objects with strong emotional connections (for example could see how a house fire started by holding a burnt child's toy from said house.)
☆Ravenlord
Attracts nearby Corvids to their location, Corvids will attempt to help the PC when able. Can eventually attempt to give Corvids simple commands
☆6th Sense
Instinctively avoid danger even if you weren't aware it was there. Probably writes it off as luck. Is always aware when something or someone is watching you.
☆Trust Magnet
Inherently know when you are being lied too. People often trust you at your word, even when they have no real reason too.
Now here's the problem, im stuck on what to give my last PC I want it to be balanced around the other quirks but Im not coming up with anything.
