So. Earlier i asked about publications of my work. So i decided to publish my main project that is right now has a backlog of around 100 chapters.

Like anyone i want to get contracted and i am sure it should go well, i at least i hope that it will.

My main questions right now is how much chapters i should publish outright? I already loaded up first 35 chapters but did not click publish yet.

For anyone with actual experience and decent following. What would you recommend? Post first 4 chapters (around 10 000 words) and then release 1 chapter a day? Wait for it to get verified and then apply for a contract?

Or it is better to post outright bigger chunk of the story? Say 20 chapters?

My chapter length is generally between 1500 and 2500 words. Sometimes there is occasional outlier with 2500-3000 words.

I really looking into publishing my work. I someone who has sort of a decent backlog. A book that i wrote some time ago, never published. Some from my family and friends read it. Then i have a long project that almost 3 books in length right now. So i am starting to think about proper publishing of my work.

I kinda like the concept of publishing one or few chapters at a time. So Webnovel got me interested. Right now i am looking at it. Reading some posts here and on the broad internet. And... It does not feel like authors here making any decent income. Not even $1000 a month. Yes, there are a few works here that seems to be earning a lot. But that is all there is. And it seems like i cannot even start making money until webnovel decides to give me a contract.

That is kind of strange way of doing things. Only thing i can do is post chapters from my written book and hope that i get that contract before everyone and their mother reads it.

So i come here to ask. Is it even worth it? Or mb just use other popular websites and utilize patreon for income, like some author's do? Or simply outright publish to Amazon?

Anyone here with experience of doing things multiple ways?
