I am currently applying for a Skilled Worker Visa extension in the UK. My application involves a change of position and a salary increase with the same employer.
My solicitor recently received an email from the Home Office stating they need "additional information" to process my application. However, the email did not specify what documents are required, and there was no attachment or link provided.
I spoke with a UKVI agent on the phone, and they suggested that since no specific documents were requested, it might just be a "Complexity Letter" indicating an internal background check/verification.
The most important thing is, I have an international trip booked in a month. I am extremely worried about the timeline.

  1. Has anyone experienced this "request for additional info" without a specific list? How long did it take to get a decision afterward?
  2. Since no documents were requested, is there any way to expedite the process?
  3. Given my upcoming travel, should I contact my local MP now or wait another week?
  4. Is that ok for me to send an email to Home Office without going through my solicitor?
Any advice or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
