I always get helped, perfected and even adjusted by Acts 13:2 which says "And as they were ministering to the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, Set apart for Me now Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them." (Recovery Version).

Any work for the Lord needs to come out of our ministering to the Lord in prayer first until the Holy Spirit moves and speaks to initiate the work. I love this part of footnote 3 on Acts 13:2 which says, "This was a great step taken by the Lord for the spread of the gospel of His kingdom to the Gentile world. It was begun from Antioch, a Gentile center in Syria, without the organizing of a mission, without the raising of funds, without human ordination, and without any human plan or method. It was initiated by five faithful and seeking members of the Body of Christ, who gave the Head of the Body an opportunity through their ministering and fasting, that He, as the Spirit, might set them apart to carry out His great commission to spread His kingdom for the establishing of His church in the Gentile world through the preaching of His gospel....".

Pray we can take this to heart and it become our practice in reality. In case someone has read this post up to this point, I do have a question here. How can we know that a work we are doing for the Lord is truly initiated by the Holy Spirit and not just something out of ourselves or natural strength?
