Hi, I was diagnosed with some mild / minimal blockages / stenosis in some of my main arteries with a CAC of 9 about 2 years ago.
I started 5mg Crestor and 10mg Nustendi and ate well, my LDL went down to 48. I decided to up the Crestor to 10mg to go more aggressive and Cardiologist approved.
After 2 years of talking medication and not checking bloods, got my recent test done to see where I’m at and my LDL has gone from 48 to 56. Admittedly my diet has gone back to occasional pizza, ice cream, cheese etc all the good stuff… I’m slim and fit and workout regularly.
What I’m wondering is how much diet can affect these numbers? I thought increasing the statin to 10mg would lower it below 48. Seems diet is crucial even with increased meds.
I will be more conscious of my diet moving forward as I want to get LDL low as possible to help with regression where possible. Anyone else have any insight of how much % change diet can make? Or have a similar story?
Cheers 🫡
