I mean, I don't know why I thought EA would capitalise on today's technological progress with generative AI to give us a more immersive experience. I'm naive I suppose. The tech is there and I don't think it would take much for them to integrate it into the youth player generation workflow. But noo, we're still getting the same old bland, personality-less faces in big 2026. This should be a no brainer but I guess they just don't give a crap. More a rant than a suggestion but whatever.

Just finished Irongold and Dark Age back-to-back and in my efforts to prolong my immersion in this world, I am procrastinating my reading of Light Bringer (for fear of bringing this immersion to an end when I finish it) and re-reading the first trilogy for the third time, this time exclusively via the dramatized adaptation.

It's brilliant. It adds a new dimension to Pierce's world, and though there are one or two scenes that read better on paper, it is by far a fantastic adaptation. The voice actor choices are near perfect. The choices for Darrow, Mustang, Victra, Sefi are incredible. The choice for Sevro is S-Tier - I couldn't have imagined it better myself and I genuinely think his VA embodies the spirit of his character better than anyone else. My main qualms are with the voice actor choices for Cassius, The Jackal, Aja, Alia, Lorn. Cassius' accent had a tad bit too much pomp, and sounded a bit older than I expected. Lorn's lacked the gravitas I had imagined. Aja's overcommitted to the monotone direction a bit too much. Alia was doing way too much. The Jackal's was just plain weird, couldn't reconcile that one. Fantastic voice actor, but it didn't match the physical description of Adrius.

Besides that, it's still a 10/10. I'm currently on the last showdown in Morning Star and I have to say, justice has been done. Hats off to everyone behind this production, you deserve your flowers.
