Hi there, my friend and I (both 24 year old males from New Zealand) are in India from 15/07-06/08 for 3 weeks.

We are spending 7 days in the Rajasthan region to check out the desert and do the desert national park trek as well as checking out areas such as Jaipur, Udaipur and Agra.

We are then spending 2 weeks in the Himalayan region, we are planning on doing the great Himalayan national park and the Kashmir Great Lakes trek.

I have a couple of questions:

1. Does anyone have any recommendations/suggestions based off what we have planned so far
2. Would it be safe to set up a tent and go camping in some of these Himalayan areas. I’m aware there are some huts etc. but we want to go and camp on the top of some mountainous areas
