Liquid CYA
Hi. Thanks in advance for any advice. I have a Hayward DE filter. Leslie Pool told me to add four containers of liquid CYA to the skimmers. I added two this morning and the pressure immediately went to 23 (from 12). I let the filter run for a few hours thinking maybe it would dissolve more and the pressure would go down, but it didn’t. I turned it off for a few hours, then turned it back on and the pressure was still 23, so I felt like I had to backwash a little. I backwashed and it went down to 16. I then added half a gallon to the further skimmer thinking it would give it more time to dissolve before it went into the filter. (It’s liquid CYA, not the flakes). It didn’t really go up, so I waited an hour and then added the second half. It has now gone up again to about 20. I’m still supposed to add another gallon, but at this point, I don’t know what to do. If I continue to run the filter overnight, will it dissolve and the pressure go back down? I am assuming I should not add the last gallon of CYA Thanks!
