Hi everyone, I currently have a CRS score of 499 under Canadian Experience Class. I recently learned that completing 3 years of foreign work experience can give an additional 25 CRS points. Before coming to Canada as a student, I worked in India as an Architect for about 2 years and 9 months, and I already claimed points for 2 years of foreign experience in my Express Entry profile. Now my work permit is expiring soon, and I’ll be moving back to India.
My question is: if I continue working in the same profession in India for another 3–4 months, can I combine this new experience with my previous 2 years and 9 months to reach a total of 3 years and then update my Express Entry profile to claim the extra CRS points? Has anyone been in a similar situation or knows if IRCC allows combining past and new foreign work experience like this, as long as it’s in the same NOC and properly documented?
