Garden faucet leaking when pressure builds up - Vacuum breaker issue?
I have a garden faucet and need to attach a timer for automatic watering. This faucet has little holes at the base, my best guess is it is an anti-siphon vacuum breaker, and when the timer shuts off and pressure builds up, water leaks through the drain vents.
Can you confirm whether this is a vacuum breaker attached to the faucet?
Are vacuum breakers incompatible with timers that maintain continuous pressure, or does this indicate that mine is faulty?
What would happen if I removed it and replaced it with a standard connector without vents? Would that affect anything else in the plumbing system?
