I finally found my vehicle I'm hitting the road in, a Ford Flex. It'll be me and my cat. He has a car seat that I've installed in the passenger seat for him.
Since I'm not in a van, I am looking to optimize every inch of space that I can. Has anyone purchased or built a storage area that nests where a human passenger's feet would go? That is entirely wasted space without a human companion and storage added.
I'm hitting Lowe's in the afternoon to pick up my supplies for a low platform for my sleeping mat that will allow me to slide small under bed storage bags with my bedding, clothes, and whatnot. I was hoping to see some ideas before I go to the store so I can shop all at once if I'm going to build something.
I am competent with a drill, jigsaw, and basic tools. Not great, but I'm not going to dismember myself and am fairly decent with spatial relations, drawing out a plan with measurements, and following directions. I'm not looking for anything fancy, I'm just having a total brain fart.
