I'm planning to build some interior doors. Two sheets of ash veneered MDF or plywood, with a finger-jointed timber frame in the middle, and a 3mm thick veneer edge.
As much simple and plane as possible.
Sidebords are going to be of veneered MDF or plywood with the same thick veneered edges.
Guing to glue the edges myself.
The questions:
MDF or plywood? The cost is almost the same. Some doors are planed to be for bathrooms.
Can you recommend good glue for edges?
Will I use it hot (heve an iron only fot it) or just press? Is it okay to trim and round the edges (1.5-2mm radius?) with a plunge router, or would be to rent a trimmer? What cutter kind or diameter would work best?
What kind of finish will work best? I like how hardtop oils looks and fill like but not shure it will work for the doors.
If you know some good manual on the thing I'm going to do, the link is really appreciated.
Thanks!
