Got laid off, built a SaaS, looking for feedback and maybe my first customer
I got laid off on 30th of April, same story I had literally 2 years ago. This time reason for lay off was “product not being profitable, and no need for all the workforce”. I wasn’t the only one who got laid off, they shrunk the company team size by 100 people - it was almost 600 people company. And the scary part of all this is that after 7 years of experience in IT, this no longer feels like a safe and stable option for a job. Not just due to AI, but honestly there’s just so much of us developers out there and not enough jobs for all of us, making getting another job almost impossible.
That is why, as 2 years ago, I built a SaaS application to try my luck in that aspect again. I know this is also highly saturated area but I am not looking for millions, just something I can live off of or at least to give me hope. This time I built a simple booking app for salons and service businesses that reduces no-shows and calls. I was inspired by my barber since she started using an app like this but that app is focused only on local market. No need to call her, just go online and book the appointment at the time that best suits you. And that is something I’ve done with my app. I know there is competition that have better application with loads of features but I also know those applications might not suit to everyone. My app could end up as something completely different after initial customers show me their biggest pain points in this market - and that is the goal for this. Because if my initial customers have some unique pain points, there is a high chance at least 100 users/businesses share that same pain point.
The application is called SlotSwift and can be found at https://slotswift.com, I would really appreciate any kind of feedback about the application and the landing page itself. I would also appreciate if someone experienced has any ideas on how to market this thing and get some traction.
The tech behind it is NextJs, TailwindCSS, Convex, Clerk and PolarSh. And yes, of course I utilized AI as much as I could to build MVP fast to get it in front of the audience asap so I can iterate and adapt quickly.
And if anyone knows of any frontend/fullstack opportunities (Vue, React, Next.js, NodeJs) I'm open to that as well. Remote only.
