Writing Feedback

Aspiring first-time writer here trying to learn what kinds of LitRPG/Fantasy concepts actually grab readers nowadays.

I’ve split my ideas into 3 separate “universes/settings” and wanted honest feedback on which one sounds the most interesting from a reader perspective. Not promoting anything, I haven’t published or even properly written before yet 😄

Universe 1 — Multiversal Progression Fantasy

This is my largest setting and would contain multiple connected series.

Main premise: A teenager from pre-integrated Earth is abducted by multiversal pirates and taken to the capital world of a god-led empire. After being discarded into a Roman-style cosmic colosseum, he begins gaining the power needed to eventually free his home world before it’s harvested by higher powers.

Another connected series in the same universe follows a monster hunter trained by a mysterious mentor created as a contingency against two equally corrupt factions of gods: one “light,” one “dark.” Basically lawful evil vs chaotic evil.

This universe would also have anthology stories focused on side characters/party members.

Universe 2 — Deliver Us From Evil

A much darker system apocalypse story.

A child survives a brutal “kindergarten tutorial” after Earth’s integration into the multiverse, where children are forced into tournament-style survival combat. When he returns to Earth, he’s taken in by his uncle, a charismatic cult leader who survived his own tutorial by manipulating followers in the name of a false god.

The MC grows up being shaped into an enforcer/assassin before eventually questioning the morality of the world he was raised in.

Universe 3 — Dream Projection Story

Probably my weirdest concept.

A nerdy teenager awakens a bloodline after being beaten unconscious by bullies. Whenever he falls asleep afterward, he unknowingly projects himself into another universe with classes, skills, magic, leveling, etc.

For years he thinks it’s all just an incredibly persistent dream and treats it like a mix between D&D and LARPing. He makes friends, enemies, learns combat, gains levels, and slowly starts applying what he learns in real life.

Then Earth finally integrates into the multiverse… and everything he earned while “dreaming” becomes real.

Mostly just trying to figure out which ideas/hooks sound strongest to actual readers before I fully commit to writing one first.
