Hey everyone!

Trying to get this bike finally road ready after a crash a year and a half ago. This is my first bike, and I started screwing with it by drilling out the baffles, and then by modifying the carb with a velocity stack in order to address what I thought was a carb issue. Surprise, surprise, it was actually my clutch about to completely fail.

Last spring a friend helped me replace the clutch, put on new handlebars, a new crash bar, and new brake and clutch levers. We also added led strip lights that I later removed (drained my battery).

my wife and I then bought new tires, and we just rebuilt the forks. We had a hell of a time getting the exhaust back on, and I’m a little concerned we didn’t seat it completely.

The bike would try spark but not crank. So I took off the carb with modified jets, put the standard set up on, cleaned and re-gapped the spark plugs (new as of work last spring). Also re-charged the battery.

I ended up twisting the idle off the carb and this last video was the first time the bike has kinda run since my friend did the work last summer. It sounded like it wanted to run, but couldn’t sustain and puttered out.

My current theory is to change the jets in the modified carb again, make sure the air fuel screw is correctly tuned to start, and to also make sure the exhaust is on completely correct? Missing anything?

Am I on the right track? Suggestions, tips? Hoping to get at least a few rides in this spring.

Thanks
