Ok level with me - post purchase clarity and long term value of trendy designer brands

No shitpost, maybe this isn't the right sub for this. I recently stopped into an clothing archive store and the inner hypebeast got a hold of me. I bought an aw17 Vetements sweater (unskinny crewneck). I had always wanted something from that brand when they were really popping off. A few days later and post purchase clarity is hitting a little bit.

For a long time I was really focused on getting quality garments and in the moment I felt that I was making an "investment" into Demna's start as a designer. It has unique cut and sew and is a relatively recognizable design. I thought that maybe this sweater would hold value long term, or worst case come back from a short term dip. Where do we see this brand going 5-10 years from now? Given that his brother is kind of rubbing it in the dirt and now Balenciaga is doing the same thing. Will his tenure at Gucci come through and his beginner designs still be sought after? Most Balenciaga designs are tanking (expectedly since a lot of this baggy oversized style and their designs were trendy junk).

Is there any reasonable way to "invest" in long term runway clothing that isn't just buying things purely because you like them and hoping for the best? Do I just cut my losses and sell now? What other brands do you see this happening to in the future?

Do you think Demna era vetements (specifically 2015 - 2019) will be hold/increase in value in long term?

Of course it's all really speculation but given that it was his first brand, his time at Balenciaga, and that his new collection at Gucci was very well received, where do you see the value of his older items standing 5-10 years from now?

S0510XX. Very comfortable and soft but stubborn denim. There’s some beautiful bleeding near the pockets and around the crotch area. Also so nice honeycombing on the back.

These are just over a year old. When I first got them it was regular wear, then about once a week go the winter and back to regular wear now. I’ve gone biking in these several times really trying to break them in.

I was stink maxxing these until I couldn’t anymore but today I unrolled the cuffs and found a lot of dirt built up, that was my breaking point. Post washing pics to be posted later, I just put them in the tub! 🥺

Solved. The Beach Boys.

From the past 4 weeks. Only hint I'll give is they had one of the greatest "what ifs" in music history

Edit: I gave some good hints in the comments

Living in Toronto, curious about Montreal. Currently working fully remote for a completely new startup (no primary office location or address, Calgary based). If I were to sublet in Montreal for a few months, how would this affect my tax filing/my employer?

If my manager approves it what information do I need to provide him? I read that tax laws only are on where you permanently reside (as of December 31st?) so does that mean that I can just sublet for 4 months there and come back and file my standard income taxes? I’ve read that Quebec taxes are quite complicated to switch to so I’d like to avoid any unnecessary complications.
