Hi everyone,

I'm doing a balanced amplifier desgin, and I need to do check the odd mode stability. I'm still not sure i understand why we need it. But anyways, could someone pinpoint a resource on how to practically check this with CAD tools like ADS? I could not find any resources on this.

I went through a rabbit hole and came to the conclusion that rollet's stability factor doesnt always correctly predict stability. It has an assumption that the circuit itself is stable under short or open conditions in the original paper. As a result, if this is doesnt hold, rollets factor falls apart. I found an example paper, that demonstrates this, called Instabilities "Diagnosis and the role of K in microwave Circuits"

So, keeping in this mind, are there better and more rigorous test out there? Is there a single test i can do and be sure there is no oscillation (barring process variations and other non idealities between EM and the actual built circuit)?
