Figured I would share my upgrades here. It was a chore to figure out what parts would be drop-in ready, as I was not looking to make any irreversible mods.
I installed an Instrumental SFTY4 set, redid all of the wiring, and replaced the pots with CTS. I replaced the original toggle switch with a Centralab, gave it the same kind of amber tip to maintain the aesthetic. Went with a pure tone output jack because they have really secure retention. I also added some shielding to the electronics cavities.
Replaced the tuners with Hipshot classics, which fit perfectly into the OEM footprint. I decided against locking tuners to avoid adding weight to the headstock.
The new bridge is an aluminum Pinnacle locking TOM with titanium saddles, and the new tailpiece is also Pinnacle, made from aluminum and has grub screws that lock it onto the posts.
I need to fill and redrill the strap pin holes, as they are egged out. I went with Gotoh Straplocks as my replacements. I even replaced the pickup rings and all of the original pickguard/pickup screws.
I am very happy with how everything turned out.
