There's a misconception that AI art = press button, get result. Here's what it actually took to build Hero Forge, a collectible card game where every card is a unique 4K animated wallpaper:

The process for each card:

Write and refine the prompt — sometimes 10-20 iterations before the concept even works

Generate and re-generate — most outputs get rejected. I'm looking for specific composition, color, and mood

For animated cards: manually edit the video, adjust the loop point, re-render until the loop is seamless

Quality check everything — every single card in the app has been individually reviewed

Multiply that by 1,000+ cards across Characters, Artifacts, Pets, and Banners, with rarity tiers from Common to Legendary.

The app itself is a full collectible experience — build your collection, set any card as a live wallpaper, sync across devices with Google Drive. All free, solo-developed.

I have gotten alot of pushback about using AI Art. I get it, I'm pushing some limits here, and it can be a bit scary. Thing is, I am an artist. I have been working in game developement for a long time, both on the art and coding sides of things. I can tell you, making this app is extremely artistic, and having such an incredible tool like AI for that proper clean assitance is incredible. But let me make it clear, AI made this possible, but did not take away any of the human effort needed to make it happen. This app has been an entire year of every night griding.
