Hello, this megathread is to discuss the contents of chapters 2980-2982.

Any discussions about Sunny regaining the Shadow Bond and being bound to Nephis as his master should go here.

We had initially decided to treat this event like any other event within the novel. However given people's strong opinions about the Shadow Bond and Sunny's situation, things have gotten a little out of hand both in terms of people breaking rules (spoiler etiquette rules, not being nice etc) and Reddit's automated abuse/harassment detection systems flagging and removing posts.

Due to this, we have instead opted to create a megathread where you can discuss your opinions about the Shadow Bond. The megathread will be up for the next few days.

Feel free to discuss the chapters, post your critique, talk about what you liked or disliked about the recent developments in the story here.

We only ask that you be kind and respectful towards each other.

Hello everyone, we just wanted to make a quick note about how we will be handling posts/comments given the recent chapters. Our goal is to create an environment where people feel comfortable expressing their opinions whether that is praise or criticism.

What we are not ok with is name calling, people insulting each other and being passive aggressive towards one another. It is possible to express your opinion while still being polite. Unfortunately over the past few hours, there have been multiple posts that have been either filtered by Reddit's systems that track abuse/harassment or posts that we have had to remove for not being nice.

We realize that the topic of the bond is quite controversial among the community and people are going to be passionate about any discussion involving it. And because of what happened in the recent chapters, we wanted to make this post talking about how we would approach moderation, what will/will not be allowed etc.

To ensure things do not spiral out of control, going forward for the next couple of days we will be a bit more proactive with locking/removing posts if we see things get out of hand.

Here is what will be allowed:

Reaction posts/comments about the latest chapters - what happened, how it differed from your expectations etc
Posts/comments talking about the implications about the bond returning and what it means for the characters
Posts/comments criticizing or expressing disappointment at the direction the book has taken so long as that criticism is limited to the book and its characters
Posts or comments that are limited to the characters, their actions and what you liked/did not like.

Here are the posts/comments we will remove or lock:

Criticizing or being passive aggressive towards real people in your critique posts for having different opinions
Saying 'person x supports the bond because they have fetish y' - you are not talking about the book at this point you are talking about a person and that is not allowed
Insults or passive aggressive statements towards the author. You can talk about his writing but do not make it personal.

We also have a few callouts:

Several comments in the past few hours were flagged and removed by reddit - we as moderators do not have control/visibility over this so please be careful about what you post. As mentioned in this post reddit can flag your account if your posts are a bit too controversial - we have seen things like shadowbans and suspensions in the past when this happens that are completely out of our control. Please be careful about what you post. We would strongly recommend against posting something too controversial or demeaning so reddit's systems do not flag your account.
If you feel strongly about this topic, the discord server (links in the sidebar) has a feedback channel you can use. The author looks at this channel and it is the best way for you to voice your opinions and provide feedback. Just remember to keep things respectful.
