My rheumatologist suggested Enbrel as my first biologic. It took 6 doses to work and only helped me for 3 months. The second one is Humira. I'm still waiting for it to work because 6 doses of Humira takes three months to go through.
I'm wondering why he didn't test me for Enbrel dosing in my body and antibodies against it. From my research, if the dose is optimal and there are no antibody, it means my RA pathway isn't TNF and there is no need to try another one in the same class.
Recently there is also a research on how better Rinvoq is compared to Humira as the second TNFi (40% vs 20%).
It's a bit late for me to stop Humira now, but I could have saved three months of waiting. I don't see much of testing mentioned on this subreddit nor come across it as much in my RA research, so I wonder if anyone's rheumatologist has done this for them.
